For UK solicitors

One missed enquiry
costs more than
a year of this.

England Voice answers your firm's line around the clock — takes proper intake details, routes the caller to the right department, and has a full attendance note in your inbox before you've finished the meeting you were in.

Legal enquiries don't ring back.

Someone whose offer was accepted this morning, or who was rear-ended last night, is working down a list. They are not comparing firms on reputation — they are ringing until a human answers, and instructing whoever does.

A conveyancing file, a PI claim, a probate matter. Miss one a month and the cost dwarfs anything on this page.

  • Captures enquiries at seven in the evening and on Sundays
  • Takes structured intake, not a name-and-number scribble
  • Routes by department — property, family, private client, litigation
  • Gathers what a conflict check needs before anyone's taken on
  • Never advises, never estimates, never comments on merits
  • Full transcript and attendance note in your inbox

What it handles

Intake, routing, and the rest

  1. 1

    New enquiry intake

Names of all parties, nature of the matter, key dates, how they found you. Structured the same way every time, so the fee earner picking it up isn't starting from a blank page.

  2. 2

    Existing client calls

Identifies the matter, takes the message, and routes to the right fee earner — or their supervisor when they're in court. Chasers get logged rather than lost.

  3. 3

    Everything it must not do

No advice, no view on merits, no estimate of damages or costs beyond your published scale, no comment on whether you'll take the case. Those lines are hard-coded, not suggested.

Why the voice matters here

Half your callers are having a bad week.

Divorce, probate, an accident, a dispute with a neighbour that's been running two years. People ring solicitors at the worst moments of their lives, and the first fifteen seconds decide whether they trust your firm.

A measured British voice that slows down when someone is upset does more for conversion than any amount of website copy.

  • Measured and professionalReassuring without being saccharine.
  • Slows down for distressStops pushing for details, offers a callback.
  • Directs genuine danger to 999And stops trying to take an enquiry.
  • Never overstepsCaptures, routes, and leaves the law to you.

Straight answers

What practice managers ask

Will it give legal advice?

Never. It cannot interpret law, comment on merits, estimate damages or suggest a course of action — those restrictions are written into the agent, not left to its judgement. It captures the enquiry and routes it to a fee earner.

How is client confidentiality handled?

Calls are recorded and transcribed with the required notice in the greeting. Data is held in the UK or EU, any call can be deleted on request, and we sign a data processing agreement as your processor. The agent never discusses one caller's matter with another.

Can it run conflict checks?

It gathers what a conflict check needs — full names of all parties, the other side where known, the nature of the matter — and flags the enquiry for your team. It does not clear conflicts itself, and it never confirms you'll act.

What if the caller is distressed?

It slows down, stops pressing for detail, and offers a transfer or a callback. Anything indicating immediate danger gets directed to 999 and the intake stops there.

Will it fit our case management system?

If it has an API, generally yes. Otherwise enquiries land as structured emails you can forward or paste in. Tell us what you run and we'll confirm before you commit.

Is this compatible with SRA obligations?

The agent handles reception, not regulated activity — it takes details and passes them on. You keep the same supervision and file-opening process you have now. That said, we'd expect you to satisfy yourself of that; we're not able to advise you on your own compliance.
